FINNSKOGEN
The project started out as a film for an exhibition at Värmlands museum in Karlstad and the Finn Forest Center in Lekvattnet. We are now developing the project into a film aimed for TV distribution.
The film about Finn Forest that tells a current story about cultural encounters, 500 years of integration, about sparsely populated areas, about the forest and ways of living in harmony with nature, history and modern society. It’s a film about the people who right now choose to settle outside the metropolitan regions and there finds a quality of life through a way of living that is both environmentally friendly, close to nature, financially sustainable and involves less stress. A life that based on different values than in the big city. With modern aids, there are now opportunities to downshift and work and live in a different way. In addition to people’s personal stories, history and nature plays important roles in the film.
Through some strong characters, we want to inspire a new look at a rich cultural heritage and a living countryside that many only recognize by the mythically sounding name The Finn Forest.
